We are so excited for you to join our Arroyo Seco Family this coming 2025-2026 school year! This is an exciting time transferring from 6th grade to Junior High in your educational academic journey. Our goal is for you all to enjoy your junior high experience at Seco with many awesome memories, learn what you need to learn for your future in 8th grade, high school, and beyond in College/Career, and as needed engage in social/emotional supports! Our students LEAD at Seco by LEARNING EACH AND EVERY DAY, SHOWING EMPATHY, APPRECIATION AND DETERMINATION! We look forward to seeing you in August 2025!
Events & Announcements
March 20, 2025: Live Virtual Parent Forum & Presentation
The Arroyo Seco JHS counselors and administrators will host a live virtual parent forum for all incoming 7th grade families on Thursday, March 20th, from 4:00-5:30. This will be a great opportunity to gain insight into all things junior high! Please check back for a link to this virtual meeting.
April 3, 2025: 6th Grade Family Night
We are excited to have students and parents/guardians alike join us for our annual in-person 6th Grade Family Night! This event will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
The event will begin with the principal's welcome and performances by our amazing band and choir/drama students from 5:00-5:30. From 5:30-6:00 families will be able to tour our campus via an open-house style event. Students and families can get a feel for our campus by allowing them to access a variety of classrooms, locker rooms and other exciting locations on campus.
August 6, 2025: Summer Check-in (7th Grade)
Students will take their ID photos, receive textbooks, and purchase PE clothes. More information can be found on our Summer Check-in page, which will be posted here in the weeks to come.
TBD August, 2025: Student Schedules & Campus Exploration
Parents will be able to view student schedules through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in the afternoon. Additionally, our campus will be open to allow students an opportunity to locate their classrooms prior to starting school. Printed schedules will also be available during this time upon request. This date will be posted here once confirmed.
Arroyo Seco Courses
Arroyo Seco is a Junior High consisting of 7th & 8th grades. Students are placed on academic teams for their core classes of English, History, Math, and Science. Students also take a Physical Education class and a semester-long exploratory class or year-long elective class. Information about Exploratory Classes and Year-long Electives can be found below.
Year-Long Specialty Elective Courses (Application & Audition Information)
Specialty electives are year-long classes that involve either an audition or application. A student may choose to audition or apply for any of these courses. Please click the links below for audition /application /sign-up details.
Exploratory Courses
Students not in a year-long elective are placed in a semester-long exploratory class. The exploratory classes fall under the practical, performing, fine arts, and /or engineering categories. Students do NOT choose their exploratory class but will experience two classes per school year.
